Self-Care Lending Library

The MSUL has a new collection in the library called the Self-Care Lending Library. Materials include 6 pairs of noise canceling headphones and 6 light therapy lamps. These items can be checked out at the MakeCentral service desk in the library on 2 West. The noise canceling headphones have a four hour borrow time and the therapy lamps can be checked out for up to three days. The noise canceling headphones may be renewed for an additional four hours but must remain in the library. The therapy lamps may be taken outside of the library for use but there is no option for renewal.

Thanks to an in house funding opportunity granted in late 2019, this small collection came to fruition after almost three years of planning and readjusting due to the pandemic and shutdown of many campus resources. This collection is now more relevant and vital to the library and its users. To ensure safety and sanitization of these items, sanitizing wipes are included each time you check out the noise canceling headphones, and our staff at the MakeCentral Service desk also sanitize both items upon their return. If you have any problems with these items, please take them to the MakeCentral Service desk and we will work to get them fixed as soon as possible.
