Due to major system maintenance, you will not be able to request items through MeLCat beginning on November 18, 2015.  Renewals for MeLCat items will still be possible until December 2, 2015.  The system should be available for requesting again in early December.  If you are MSU faculty, student or staff, please try Uborrow.  Our community borrowers will not have access to interlibrary loan through MSU during that time. For more information, please read this MeLCat Server Migration FAQ. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Recall "Checked Out" Items

Please use this form to request that we recall CHECKED OUT material and hold it for you.

! Special Holiday Dates !

  • Due to MSU's break and the holidays, recalls requested 12/07/15 through 12/28/15 will not be due until 1/11/16.
  • Beginning 12/29/15, the 14-day recall due date will resume.
  • You may try Uborrow or MeLCat, which will be down until 12/11/15 for maintenance. However, many libraries close for two or three weeks over the holidays, so those requests may not be processed until 2016. Also, you may check with MSU Libraries Reference to find alternate resources currently available at MSU.

What happens when this form is submitted? On the next business day (Monday - Friday, except University holidays), a "recall notice" will be sent to the borrower requesting return within 14 days. When the item is returned, you will be notified that it is being held for you. You may log in to your Library account to check the item's status.

POLICY: If a recalled item is not returned within 14 days, the current borrower loses library privileges, is fined $1 per day, is billed for replacement, and (if an MSU student) is blocked from MSU enrollment, registration, diploma, and transcripts.
