Follow the instructions below to download and install a full-text searchable copy of the Proceedings of the January, 2001 Michigan Turfgrass Conference.
Download the file and place it in an empty directory on your hard disk.
(If clicking on the link above displays the file instead of downloading it, right-click on the link and select "Save to Disk" from the menu that appears.)
(The files may also be installed on a shared network drive, as long as it is accessible by a UNC name such as \\MYSERVER\PROC2001.)
Run the file mtc2001.exe. The documents and the index files will be installed in their proper locations.
NOTE: The directory hierarchy must remain as it is in the zip file, because the index files contain relative directory references. To search:
Select Edit, then Search from the main menu, or press the Search button.
(The Search button shows a pair of binoculars and a sheet of paper. The Find button, which searches only the current document, shows only the binoculars.)Press the Indexes button, then press Add.NOTE: If your copy of Acrobat Reader does not have the Search button, or if Search does not appear in the Edit menu, it does not have the Search feature. To get it, download a new copy of Acrobat Reader from http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep2.html. Be sure you check the "Include option for searching files" box before downloading.
In the "File name" box, type the complete path to the file mtc2001.pdx and press OK. (This will be in the directory in which you unzipped mtc2001.exe.) The Index selection should now contain a listing for "Michigan Turfgrass Conference", which should be checked.
Press OK. You are ready to search.
NOTE: Acrobat Reader will remember the location of the indexes you have searched; you only have to go through the "Add Index" steps the first time.
