TIC policy on short term "License bump-ups" For Instructional/Training ('hands-on') sessions
Please notify TIC at least one week in advance if you would like to use the option for instructional or training purposes (by phone (800) 446-8443 or e-mail: tgif@msu.edu )

• The number of simultaneous users cannot exceed 15.

• If you selected the IP range option at the time of your subscription, the machines used for the training/instruction must be in the defined IP range for the institution.

• It would be very helpful to call us prior to the event (or earlier the same day) just to be sure that everything is running smooth from both sides.

• If you would like us to supply copies of the TIC brochure for you to distribute, please let us know the quantity you will need in advance (preferably 2 weeks).

• A 2-page "Getting Started with TGIF" handout which can be useful in orientation sessions is available at http://tic.msu.edu/Getting%20Started%20with%20TGIF.pdf

• Note that the bump-up is only available for the "campus-wide" sub account; not for the "full" sub accounts (single user with password) associated with an institutional subscription.

• We would also suggest that you incorporate into your training the following points:

  A. Use on-screen navigation buttons in preference to browser controls when inside the database engine.

  B. Don't forget to press the "Log Off" button when "finished". If a user does not log off, one of the user "slots" might be in use for up to 30 minutes until the system times the session out.

  C. You may wish to review the "Hints for Searching" and "Frequently Asked Questions" materials with your trainees.
