  1. At the Main Menu screen on Magic (staff mode, Anzio session), select "M", Management Information.

  2. At the Management Information menu select "I", Information about the system.

  3. You will be prompted for your initials and current password.

  4. Select "P", Change your password, from the Information about Innopac...menu.

  5. This option allows library staff to change the passwords they use to gain access to various INNOPAC functions. Each library employee should change his or her password regularly. In order to use this option, you must know your current password; if you have forgotten your password, contact the person in your library who is authorized to maintain the password file.

INNOPAC will ask for your initials and current password and then will ask you to key the new password. (If your library is using Variable-length passwords, you must press <RETURN> after typing both initials and password.)

Please key your initials : sss

Please key your password : ___

Please key your NEW password : ___

As a security precaution, neither your old nor your new password will display on the screen. (You will be asked for your new password twice to ensure that you have not made an error when typing it.)

NOTES: Do not confuse the passwords that staff use to gain access to INNOPAC functions (which can be changed with this option) with the passwords that are used when people log in (which cannot be changed with this option).

It is strongly recommended that passwords be changed on a regular basis (e.g., once a month). In order to discourage unauthorized access to your INNOPAC. Passwords should not be words that are easy to guess. A good strategy is to require that passwords consist of a combination of letters and numbers that do not spell out an actual word. For example:
