Ordering and Receiving Materials - Ordering: Downloading GOBI (Yankee) records for firm orders

In Millennium, please use the following steps for downloading (importing) GOBI records:

  1. Go
  2. Import Invoices
  3. Data Exchange
  4. Select process – load bibliographic records from tape or IFTS…
  5. Get FTS
  6. local host = 206.32.50.201
  7. connect – use gobi user name and password  michsu/sp8prE
  8. Locate file in remote file list (on the right side)“1880date.mrc”
  9. click on chosen record
  10. click on get (file will move or appear in local window)
  11. Disconnect
  12. close FTS window
  13. In data exchange window – locate .mrc.lfts file and highlight
  14. from icons on top of window – click on PREP
  15. In preprocess window – verify date and file name
  16. click “start” at the bottom of the screen
  17. Preprocess window will show number of input and output records ONLY
  18. Close preprocess window
  19. in data exchange window you have file “1880date.mrc.lmarc” – highlight
  20. select Load G
  21. verify record and click on load at the bottom of the screen
  22. Stop – write down the number of records, beginning and ending record numbers
  23. go to the top and close the window
  24. delete previous days information

    Example:
    “18800509.mrc.errlog”
    “18800509.mrc.lfts”
    “18800509.mrc.lmarc”
