Lisa Robinson (names) and Jim Latchney (series) review NACO authority records created by Cataloging and Metadata Services team members and will submit the records to OCLC. NACO name and series authority records should be moved into the shared Names or Series Authority File for review. To do this, you must first map Connexion on your computer to the shared review files on the server.
Preliminary steps:
- Open Connexion.
- Go to Tools in the toolbar and scroll down to Options.
- Select the General Tab.
- Add MiEM to the MARC Organization Code field.
- Still in Options, select the My Status tab.
- Check the Authority records field and put your initials in that field.
- Click Apply and Close.
- Mapping to the Names or Series review file:
- Go to File in the toolbar.
- Select Local File Manager.
- Click on the Authority radio button in the top section Choose File Type.
- Click on the Configure Paths button in the upper right.
- Click on the Add button.
- Select the drive that maps to \\mainlib7\tscatme.
- Select the NACO folder.
- Highlight the NAMES [or SERIES] folder.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the OK button on the Configure Paths window.
- Now, in the Local File Manager window, you should see the C:\ drive and another drive that has \NACO\NAMES [or \NACO\SERIES]. To the right, the file should be called nar_review.auth.db [or sar_review.auth.db].
- Click on Close
