If the location on the ORDER record or SELECTION SLIP (for approvals) is SS and the selector is AMW (or AMW appears in the EXT NOTE field in the order record), the book may be cataloged without further review. Either catalog the title as a RUSH or transfer to the RUSH cataloging shelf.

For all other titles ordered or selected for SS, transfer the book to the Reference review shelf in Current Processing.

Examine the copy and apply your regular 'SORT' criteria. If there's something about the copy which bumps the book from your workflow, pass it on (check RUSH processing procedures for transfer destination).

(NOTE: PromptCat shelf-ready processors may (if they wish) transfer ALL reference locations (including those listed below) to the RUSH cataloging shelf in Current Processing even if the copy matches the PromptCat "sort". PromptCat processors may choose to do this if trucks awaiting processing are backlogged in Acquisitions. Use the wide red (reference) flag, and mark the appropriate location.)

If you catalog the title, use these location and bib record 049 codes:

REFERENCE category (Final destination code*): BIB

049:

ITEM

Loc:

Call no.

Stamp:

Closed reference (SSQRF) QEMG SS REFERENCE
Biography tools (SSBIO) QEMG SS REFERENCE
Funding center (SSFOU) QEMG SS REFERENCE
Law tools/reporters (SSML) QEMG SS REFERENCE
Statistics alcove (SSSTT) QEMG SS REFERENCE
Travel guides (IRTRV) QEMG SS REFERENCE
Career collection (CA) QEMF CA CAREERS
Africana (AF) QEMJ AF AFRICANA

Place the finished book on the RUSH LABELING TRUCK in Acquisitions. Be sure to leave the WIDE RED (REFERENCE) FLAG (narrow red flag for location AF) in the book!

*Final destination code is included to help identify which reference category applies. DO NOT use this as a location code in either the BIB or ITEM record in MAGIC.
