Diane Warner
Staff Recognition
During the pandemic, as the Libraries provided information resources to a locked-down campus, to classes taking place remotely, and to researchers working from off-campus, Diane Warner’s responsibilities with electronic resources became even more crucial to fulfilling the Libraries mission. She plays a key role due to her expertise with electronic resources, the process to order them, information about resources in our website, and problem-solving for both library users and our own staff. Her work in negotiating vendor access terms, activating new resources quickly, and troubleshooting interruptions to service was a key component for providing electronic journals, e-books, streaming video and music, primary source databases, data sets, and the other online resources that the campus community relied on during the pandemic. Her ability to conduct ongoing business in an effective, timely and safe manner made a material difference to success for the library and thus for the users of the library. As in past years, she carried out her assignment with attention to detail, good judgement, skillful communication with others (on and off campus, and complicated by the use of venues like Zoom), flexibility, creativity and responsibility. In addition, she has spent substantial time on task forces as we bring the library's new Integrated Library System -- FOLIO -- online. Her work made and continues to make a critical difference.
