Louis Villafranca
Staff Recognition
During this time of work-at-home, Louis Villafranca again has shown his dedication to his job and the Libraries. As soon as pandemic conditions allowed, Louis began to come into the building several days a week to process monographs and periodicals for the bindery. He did he was doing both his own full-time job and the work normally done by students: he worked with his supervisor to prioritize and include other staff when possible, to keep up. The majority of work and organizing for the coming and going of books to the bindery still fell on his shoulders. Louis also continued to pick up library materials throughout the building for book repair or bindery work.
Louis solved problems with shipments that arose with the bindery during the pandemic. He prepared carefully before taking his vacation time to make sure we could send out a bindery shipment while he was away.
These steps reflect how much Louis cares about the library, the books, and his job.
