The Web Services unit worked this past year to migrate the website to new servers. Automated scripts were built to deploy the software we use as a platform for our test, staging, and production environments. Each time the code was crafted and deployed, the result needed to be tested to verify that every toggle got flipped the right way and that the sites still worked. (We did this for the Main Libraries’ site and Turfgrass’s sites.) Jonathan Callies willingly helped us with this testing with the permission of his supervisors. The work is tedious and time consuming. We were and still are so grateful for his help in doing this testing as it moved the project along much quicker and with less bias, as we assume things will work if we are the “expert.” I want to recognize his participation and helpfulness.
