Virginia has been an integral part of the Business Library by helping our patrons and her colleagues including the student supervisor and our student employees. However, the value of her work and dedication have been more evident recently. With the closure of the Business Library due to the coronavirus, all of the staff of the Business Library except Virginia went home. Virginia continued to work at the Business Library, and she only started to work from home when the governor’s ordered shut things down. During that time she continued to go into the Business Library 3 times a week to make sure essential services were done including doing scans and sending material for the Main Library, checking the book drop for material, checking and taking care of mail, and doing whatever else is necessary during her limited time in the library. She has gone out of her way to assist colleagues working from home including checking our mail and notifying us of important items. Virginia has solely kept the essential services of the Business Library going, and her work allowed the rest of us to work from home knowing that all was being handled competently. She should be recognized for her hard work and dedication to her colleagues and our patrons.
