Can you imagine how drab and boring our lives would be without art? How would we express ourselves? The world definitely would not exist as we know it. The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary (http://www.m-w.com/netdict.htm) gives many definitions of "art", but the version used for this display is this:"the conscious use of skill and creative imagination especially in the production of aesthetic objects; also : works so produced"
An aesthetic object can be a painting, picture, song, stories or something as simple as a quilt. While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it is all art. Art is all around us. The government even has its own holdings. This display will show you pieces of art and its influence in our lives.
