In the LibraryData Services is the central point for numerical information (especially in the social sciences) at the MSU Libraries. Data Services works closely with Government Documents, which provides access to government generated data and statistics. Other units in the library that work closely with data include the Map Library for GIS and spatial data, and the Business Library for economic, financial, and marketing data.

- Center for Statistical Training and Consulting (CSTAT)
The Center for Statistical Training and Consulting is a professional service and research unit at Michigan State University. Our aim is to support research and provide training and consulting in statistics for faculty, staff and graduate students. - Statistical Consulting Services - Academic Technology Services (ATS)
This service is free to the university community. We can help you select and locate statistical software for your research. In addition, we can assist finding manuals or related reference materials. We offer instruction on learning to use statistical and mathematical software through the Libraries, Computing and Technology Training Program. Our service provides consulting assistance throughout your research project from data collection and management to interpreting your results. - Statistical Consulting Center – CANR Biometry Group
The Statistical Consulting Center (SCC) in the CANR Biometry Group offers statistical advice pertinent to research and scholarly activities free of charge to faculty and their associates (Technicians, Graduate Students) in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University and/or with Michigan Agricultural Experiment Stations. SCC's mission is to facilitate and aid in the design, analysis, and interpretation of data. - Statistics and Probability Help Room – Department of Statistics & Probability
The Help Room is available for any student taking an undergraduate level statistics class in the Department of Statistics & Probability.

The Data Service Unit is part of the College of Education’s Office of K-12 Outreach. The unit provides workshops, consultation, and resources that enable school districts to make effective use of data for decision making. - globalEDGE – Center for International Business Education and Research
Created by the International Business Center (IBC) at Michigan State University, globalEDGE is a knowledge web-portal that connects international business professionals worldwide to a wealth of information, insights, and learning resources on global business activities. This information includes extensive lists of international statistical sources and the Database of International Business Statistics. - Office for Survey Research
The mission of the Office for Survey Research (OSR) at the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research is to produce rigorous survey data on pressing public policy issues to inform policy and decision makers and the general public. Their most popular survey is the State of the State Survey. OSR conducts telephone and mail surveys for scientific or policy research for academia, government, and nonprofit organizations. Types of services offered include: survey design; mail, web, or telephone survey data collection; survey analysis and report writing; data entry, focus groups; and instructional support.

- Afrobarometer – Department of Political Science
The Afrobarometer is a comparative series of national public attitude surveys on democracy, markets, and civil society in Africa. Coordinated by MSU, surveys are implemented by a network of survey research institutions based mainly in Africa. Between 1998 and 2005, the Afrobarometer attracted some $7 million in external funding, including over $5 million in grants directly to MSU. - Biomedical Research Informatics Core (BRIC)
BRIC is under the governance of the MSU Clinical and Translational Science Institute (MSU-CTSI). BRIC’s core capabilities, its position as Data Coordinating Center for a substantial national autism research program funded by the Centers for Disease Control, and its innovative Integrated Multi-Mode Data Capture technology development plan, position BRIC to provide the type of research informatics support necessary to be a driving force in MSU’s strategy emphasizing broad distributed community-based research. - Center for Remote Sensing & Geographic Information Science (RS&GIS)
The Center for Remote Sensing is a non-academic program in the Department of Geography under the College of Social Sciences at Michigan State University. RS&GIS provides state-of-the-art remote sensing (RS), global positioning system (GPS), geographic information science (GIS) and cartographic services to the MSU campus, the State of Michigan, and other agencies. - Collegiate Employment Research Institute (CERI)
CERI conducts research on the transition from college to work; employment readiness; and the transition experience through college. Assessment of learning in the workplace and outcome assessment for University accountability is another area of research. CERI produces a regular report on “Recruiting Trends” which involves an annual survey of national employers and their intentions for hiring new college graduates. - Office for Survey Research
