Description of Research Data Support Services
Research Data Planning & Design
- Grant writing: Assistance when HIPAA-compliant clinical research informatics and data management plan required
- Data management: Core of clinical data management professionals help manage data from clinical studies, including trials
- Hosting of large molecular datasets
Data Collection
- Access to four different electronic data capture platforms used for full spectrum of data capture from classical paper based (double) entry to web-based surveys
Short Term Data Storage & File Sharing
- Backup policy
- Space rented within Health Information Technology data center
- Complex backup policy:
- Journal all transactions in an audit trail, for immediate recovery
- Archive all transactions
- Backup all transactions daily
- All source database tables backed-up weekly
- Weekly backups and daily transaction tapes stored offsite
- Cost of storage: First 10 GB included in platform usage fees
- Cost of additional storage: Additional storage in units of 10 GB for purchase
- Maximum retention period: For the period required by the granting agency
