Department of Education Crime Statistics Database
Crime statistics for MSU and other postsecondary schools are available. Data can be retrieved for one institution or more to compare.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
The FBI's keeps significant crime data in their Uniform Crime Reports. They have Uniform Crime Reports on Crime in the United States, Hate Crime Statistics, and Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted. They also have missing person information here and equal opportunity information here.

International Crime Victimization Survey (ICVS) Series
This resource is available through ICPSR. It includes surveys to look at a householders' experience with crime, policing, crime prevention, and feelings of insecurity in a large number of nations.

Michigan State Police Crime Reporting
This web site provides accident statistics for Michigan including crime statistics for state totals, county totals, and information on arrests. Their main publication is the Uniform Crime Report. It includes information runaways.

National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD) at ICPSR
The NACJD preserves and distributes computerized crime and justice data from Federal agencies, state agencies, and investigator initiated research projects. The website also includes data resouces guides on popular topics including capital punishment in the US, homicides, National Corrections Reporting Program, National Crime Victimization Survey, National Incident-Based Reporting System, and violence against women.

Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Statistical Briefing Book (SBB)
The Statistical Briefing Book (SBB) has been designed to easily find basic statistical information on juvenile offending, victimization of juveniles, and involvement of youth in the juvenile justice system.

School survey on crime and safety (SSOCS) 2003-04 public-use data files, user's manual, and codebook
Available on CD and online, the School Survey on Crime and Safety (SSOCS) is the primary source of school-level data on crime and safety for the U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). The SSOCS is a nationally representative cross-sectional survey of about 3,000 public elementary and secondary schools.

United Nations International Study on Firearm Regulation
This survey deals with firearm regulation around the world, and includes the following topics: ownership, possession and use; manufacturing and trade; smuggling and other illegal dealings; demographic and crime statistics; policy and public education initiatives; and the identification of key contact persons within countries.

United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI)
The International Crime Victimisation Survey (ICVS) surveys crime in many industrialized and developing countries. The first ICVS took place in 1989, the second in 1992, the third in 1996 and the fourth in 2000. It includes national and some city information.

United Nations Surveys of Crime Trends and Operations of Criminal Justice Systems
The United Nations Surveys of Crime Trends and Operations of Criminal Justice Systems (formerly known as the United Nations World Crime Surveys) series was begun in 1978 and is comprised of five quinquennial surveys covering the years 1970-1975, 1975-1980, 1980-1986, 1986-1990, and 1990-1994.

U.S. Courts
This web site includes information on bankruptcy, profiles for the 12 U.S. courts of appeals and 94 U.S. district courts–plus national totals for the appellate and district courts, caseload statistics, wiretap reports, and more.
