Economic Research Service
The Economic Research Service is a primary source of economic information and research in the U.S. Department of Agriculture including issues involving food, farming, natural resources, and rural development.
Economics, Statistics and Market Information System (ESMIS)
The USDA Economics, Statistics and Market Information System (ESMIS) is a collaborative project between Albert R. Mann Library at Cornell University and several agencies of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The system contains nearly 2500 reports and datasets. These materials cover U.S. and international agriculture and related topics. Available titles include both current and historical data.
FAO
While FAOSTAT is listed in the library electronic resources, additional information can be found on the regular web site for the FAO. They have many statistics and reports, including a statistical yearbook, which is also available in print at the library. The FAO is a great source for international data. It includes information on agriculture, trade, forestry, and fisheries.
Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS)
The Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) works to improve foreign market access for U.S. products, build new markets, improve the competitive position of U.S. agriculture in the global marketplace, and provide food aid and technical assistance to foreign countries. It includes agricultural trade data, agricultural production data, and market reports.
International Food Policy Research Institute
In collaboration with institutions throughout the world, IFPRI is often involved in the collection of primary data and the compilation and processing of secondary data. The resulting datasets provide a wealth of information at the local (household and community), national, and global levels. Applications may have to be submitted to access data.
Michigan Agricultural Statistics (AS)
Part of the Michigan Department of Agriculture, AS collects, verifies, and analyzes data used to prepare Michigan statistical estimates. The results are available through NASS.

National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS)
Part of the USDA, the National Agricultural Statistics Service provides timely, accurate, and useful statistics in service to U.S. agriculture.
United Nations Statistics Division
This site contains a number of statistical database and cover areas like agriculture, environment, social, and development statistics.
United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)
The USDA has a number of publications and databases over a number of subjects including agriculture and food and nutrition. For example, they have a plants database and crop explorer.
U.S. Trade Internet System
This system reports the United States international trade statistics on Agricultural, Fish, Forest and Textile Products from the inception of the Harmonized coding system in 1989 to the present.
