Netscape 7.x / Mozilla 1.7-x.x - cable modem/dsl configuration

1. From the menu bar select Edit, then open Preferences, Advanced, and then select Proxies.




2. Select Automatic proxy configuration URL:

3. Type (or copy) this URL into the field for the Configuration Location (URL):http://www.msu.edu/service/web/proxy/msu.js
    Click the Reload button, then on the OK button.





4. In your browser window, you may need to Reload the page for the settings to activate and display the Proxy authentication dialog box.



5. If the Automatic Configuration URL does not work, you may have to manually configure the proxy settings. Clear all of the items you set up in Steps 2-3.

6. Select Manual Proxy configuration as your option,and enter this information into the
HTTP Proxy field: proxy.msu.edu Port: 8080



7. Click OK and then Reload the browser window by selecting the reload button on either the menu bar or the navigation bar.
