With the General category selected, you will now select Connections at the bottom of the display window, and click on the button for Connnection Settings.the content will change to reflect the configuration setup for Proxies . If your system supports it you may be able to expedite the setup by using javascript available from ACNS to automatically detect the proxy for you. http://www.msu.edu/service/web/proxy/msu.js

Click the Reload button after entering the information into the field, then click the OK button to continue.

Reload button to refresh your web session. This will in most instances generate the prompt for the Proxy server to ask you for your MSUNet user name and password. Enter this information, then click OK to continue with your session.

If the automatic configuration does
not work on your system, either due to Anti-virus applications, or firewall settings on your system, please continue to the next step to manually configure your system.

Select General -->Connection, then click on the Connection Settings button for manual proxy configuration. If you still have the script information in the Automatic proxy configuration field, you may delete that URL at this time if you wish.

proxy.msu.edu and for the port you will enter: 8080. Do not change any other information in the Connection Settings information window. Once you are done, click the OK button to return to your web browser window.
