If you have questions about preserving or repairing your books or family heirlooms, the Conservation & Preservation Unit staff would be happy to help you. Contact Eric Alstrom, Head of the Conservation & Preservation Unit, with your questions. Sending pictures and providing as much detail about the book or other objects will be helpful in giving you a complete answer.

While we do not repair books for individuals, we do maintain the Conservation Referral List, a list of conservators and bookbinders in Michigan (and some national companies) who do.

We also keep a list of Frequently Asked Questions that can answer general questions and direct you to the resources you need.
