Not Catalog Materials

I. Certain categories of material are not to be
catalogued. These categories are as follows:
A. Office reference materials for personal use.
B. Sample copies of serials.
C. Vertical file materials.
II. Library
collection areas which order items which are not to be cataloged are to type DO
NOT CAT in the box in the upper right hand corner of the order request card or
write the words on the top of a stamped OCLC printout.
III. The Acquisitions
Department will not search do not cat orders and will type DO NOT CAT in the
external note field on the Innopac record.
IV. When Do No
Catalog materials are received in Monograph Acquisitions they are distributed
in the following manner instead of being sent through the normal cataloging
process:
A. Materials for professional use are sent
directly to the person who has ordered them.
