MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES
Policy and Procedure Statement 1.4.5
CIC Reciprocal Library Borrowing Privileges
February 2001

I.    MSU Faculty

MSU faculty members who wish to do research at other Big Ten Libraries or at the Regenstein Library of the University of Chicago may receive library privileges comparable to those normally extended to faculty members of those institutions as part of a reciprocal agreement arranged through the Committee on Institutional Cooperation.

Before traveling, interested MSU faculty should contact Circulation (517) 355-2333 to apply for the identification card that must be presented at the library to be visited.

The CIC reciprocal borrowing privileges program is a supplement to institutional interlibrary loan (ILL) services. ILL requests must be submitted via MSU Library web request forms.

II.   Visiting Faculty

Faculty members from other Big Ten institutions and the University of Chicago who wish to do research at the Michigan State University Libraries will have MSU Faculty/Staff borrowing privileges upon presentation of the CIC identification card at the Circulation Desk (Main Library lobby) to receive an M.S.U. Library card.

Faculty from other CIC institutions must abide by all MSU Library policies.
