The Information Technology Division at MSU Libraries
The mission of the Information Technology Division is to provide technological infrastructure and support for educational and research information for MSU Libraries.
IT supports 60 servers, over 800 staff and public workstations, and an active digitization program for both print and voice materials. The Division serves a university-wide role in offering assistance in obtaining copyright permissions, as well as copyright training and advice. It is also home to the Vincent Voice Library, a major national collection of spoken word materials and the cornerstone of the Digital Library Initiative (Phase 2)-funded “National Gallery of the Spoken Word” project.
Other grant projects the Division has been involved with include:
- Shaping the Values of Youth (Library of Congress/Ameritech)
- Feeding America (Institute of Museum and Library Services)
- The Making of Modern Michigan (Institute of Museum and Library Services)
- The Euglenoid Project (National Science Foundation)
