Accessibility Services

Assistive Listening Device

An assistive listening device is available for events or meetings taking place in the MSU Main Library Green Room.  Please contact lib.dl.accessibility@msu.edu in advance of the event or meeting to ensure proper setup.

Book Retrieval

Please send a list of material to be retrieved via email to lib.dl.accessibility@msu.edu. These materials will be held at the Circulation Desk for pickup. Expected turnaround time is two business days.

Authorize another person to check out books on your behalf

Patrons who cannot come in to the library to pick up the requested books may fill out a form to have someone else pick the books on their behalf. This process takes a few days to complete. To authorize another person to check out material, please email lib.dl.accessibility@msu.edu with your request.  

Library Material Remediation

The MSU Libraries can remediate inaccessible library electronic/digital materials for users with disabilities. More information can be found on the Remediation Requests & Info page. Any questions should be directed to: lib.libraryremediation@msu.edu.

Interlibrary Loan

InterLibrary Services will get copies of articles, books or other materials not available at the MSU Libraries for MSU students, faculty, and staff at no charge.

Please contact the Michigan Commission for the Blind Braille & Talking Book Library ((800) 992-9012) to receive Braille and audiobooks from the National Service for the Blind & Physically Handicapped.

Reference Services

Assistance using library resources is available at the Main Library Reference Desk as well as by email, chat, or phone using Ask Us.

MakeCentral

Assistance with self-service copying, scanning, or printing is available as staffing allows at the Selma D. and Stanley C. Hollander MakeCentral: Service Desk (on 2nd Floor West) at the current price.

Self-Care Lending Library: 6 pairs of noise canceling headphones and 6 light therapy lamps can be checked out at the MakeCentral service desk on the 2nd Floor West of the Main Library.
