Happy Holidays from the Red Tape Editor!

For nearly a century Michiganians have celebrated Thanksgiving Day by witnessing a fabulous romp down Detroit’s Woodward Avenue. Nearly a million people are expected downtown for the 2004 America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. In addition, millions of others will enjoy the statewide or national network television broadcast of the event. The warm-up for the parade is the annual 10k Turkey Trot. Last year, more than 5,000 “trotters” participated.

Shortly after the parade’s conclusion, the Detroit Lions will renew the city’s unique football tradition. Tickets are already scarce for the Lion’s midday contest with the Indianapolis Colts at Ford Field. CBS Television will share the game with the rest of the world… including military personnel watching the broadcast or listening to Armed Forces Radio.
