Susan Field, the new Documents Librarian at St. Clair County Library, reports
that internet access terminals are scheduled for installation in fall 1996. Her library is
also anticipating an operational OPAC by mid-summer.

Larry Hall, Alma College, reports that his fax number included in past several issues

Mary Karpinski, Library of Michigan, reports that a Michigan Documents Retrocon
project has begun at her library. The entire collection will be inventoried and placed in
ANSWER, the Library of Michigan's online catalog. She also reports that the Library of
Michigan has invited three finalists for the position of Director, Library of Michigan, to

Joe Morehead, professor at the School of Information Science
and Policy, State University of New York at Albany, is the 1996
recipient of the Isadore Gilbert Mudge - R.R. Bowker Award
presented by the Reference and Adult Services Division (RASD) of
the American Library Association (ALA). "Mr. Morehead was chosen for his contributions
to the area of government information. His book 'Introduction to United
States Government Information Sources,' now in its fourth edition, is the standard text for
government documents and he has been in the forefront of the battle
for the public's right to be informed."
Kim Ranger, Associate Librarian (Documents/Reference), was granted tenure
at Grand Valley State University in May 1996. Congratulations!
Bob Schroeder, the interim government documents librarian at the University
of Detroit Mercy (while Sandy Calemme is on sabbatical) reports that the
McNichols Campus Library is developing a library/media services web site
which will include pathfinders/links to federal government information. Bob's e-mail

Diane VanderPol, Calvin College Library, reports that she attended the Annual
Depository Library Conference for the first time and found it very worthwhile. "The
sessions were very good and the networking was valuable." She also reports that
two of the three letters from Michigan supporting the FDLP found in Fulfilling
Madison's Vision came from Calvin College and Seminary professors. Congratulations
to Diane and the rest of the Calvin College Library staff for not only making these resources
available, but for having faculty members who realize their importance!
Margo Zieske, the new Documents Librarian at the Monroe County Library System,

MCLS has hired a new librarian, Kip DeGraf as Electronic Resources Coordinator, to
provide Internet services for both staff and the public.
