This firm provides IKNOW, Interactive Knowledge for Nonprofits Worldwide, a free source of information on the web, expressly designed to give the nonprofit community information it can use. Unlike using a major search engine, the careful selection and organization of content on IKNOW is designed to save time usually spent weeding through tens and hundreds of pages that are not exactly what you were looking for. The editors of IKNOW seek out, identify, and organize only the best available information of concern to the nonprofit community into a dozen major categories: business services, education, fringe benefits, fundraising, governance, human resources, legal issues, legislation, marketing and media, strategic planning and volunteerism. The site has recently added a new category of information on state requirements for charitable solicitations. [Also listed under Nonprofit Library.]

A central starting point to help nonprofit organizations access online Federal information and services. Linked to all Cabinet Departments and many agencies, it contains information about grants, regulations, taxes, and other services as well as information on a wide range of other topics and programs. Our potential users are any of the 1.2 million nonprofit organizations as defined by the IRS Tax Code, or any members or clients of these groups. Most Americans have been involved with nonprofits in many ways -- either as members, volunteers, contributors, or as recipients of their services.

In an environment where nonprofit organizations are being called upon to do more with less, new approaches to nonprofit administration and education are essential. Western Michigan University, with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, is helping nonprofit organizations meet the challenges that a new millenium poses. Mutually beneficial partnerships with nonprofits are allowing the University to learn lessons from nonprofit leaders in the community while providing the nonprofit community with University-based concepts and theories to improve and increase organizational capacity.
