A web version of the complete Grants Database that gives grant seekers up-to-date information related to current funding programs from thousands of sources. According to the publisher, it contains over 10,000 funding opportunities provided by over 3,400 sponsoring organizations. Each record includes: contact information, sponsor name and address, subject terms for related searches, and type of sponsor (federal agency, foundation, research institute, etc.). Each record also includes, where available: URLs to more information on the funding opportunity, deadline date(s), restrictions on who may apply (including geographic restrictions), lists of previous awards, amount(s) of grant or award, Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance number, populations encouraged to apply (e.g., women, minorities, disabled), RFA and PA numbers for NIH grants, and program numbers for NSF grants. Funding opportunities range from pure research grants to arts programs, biomedical and health care research, community services programs, children and youth programs, and K-12 education funding. Sponsoring organizations include federal government agencies (including NIH, NSF, Centers for Disease Control, and many others), foundations and other nonprofit organizations, corporations and corporate foundations, research institutes, state agencies, and universities.

FundSource: A Search Tool for Research Funding in the Behavioral and Social Sciences

FundSource is a tool designed to help behavioral and social scientists find research funding. It has been designed to be specific to behavioral and social science research, freely available with no subscription costs, and responsive to your needs and feedback. The FundSource database includes short descriptions; contact information; and web links to programs in federal agencies, foundations, and international organizations that fund behavioral and social science research. Academic disciplines covered include: anthropology, archaeology, area/population studies, communication, criminology, economics, education, geography, linguistics/psychology, planning/policy studies, political science, psychology, public affairs, socio/legal studies, and sociology.

The Funding Directory represents a list of all programs pertaining to biomedical and science research currently entered in the GrantsNet database. You can use it to find information about specific programs that interest you. Programs are listed here under the name of the granting foundation, and foundations are arranged in alphabetical order. When a foundation is named after a person, that foundation is listed in alphabetical order according to the person's surname (e.g., The Roy C. Carver Charitable Trust is listed under "C").

    The Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies has developed a new procedure for managing institutionally limited funding opportunities. Such limited submission proposals will require a short pre-proposal to select the application(s) to be submitted from MSU. The pre-proposal guidelines and cover sheet are available on the Web at: http://resfacil.msu.edu/groups/ILP/. This site also lists the program announcements including the internal and external deadlines. Faculty are encouraged to subscribe to the Limited Submission Listserv to receive regular notifications of limited submission opportunities. Instructions for subscribing to the limited submission listserv can be found on the Institutionally Limited Proposals Web site.
