The FDOP, available for free use in the MSU Main Library, is one of the most powerful tools on the market for exploring top-tier intelligence on grant makers, the grants they make, and their 990-pf returns. Includes information on 91,000 U.S. foundations and corporate donors, 1.2 million recent grants, and more than 400,000 key decision-makers.

This is an introductory course presented by the MSU College of Law Small Business & Nonprofit Clinic designed for those interested in forming a nonprofit organization, or those currently working for a nonprofit. The course will provide a basic overview of relevant nonprofit formation topics including business planning, legal formation, copyright and trademark issues, and generating realistic financial goals. In addition, participants will be introduced to the unique legal issues involved in obtaining tax exempt status for a nonprofit organization.
