A new, free online resource for fundraising professionals announced its national website launch recently, following two years of research and development and three months of beta testing. DevelopPro.com was created by fundraising professionals for fundraising professionals, making it a unique web-based resource for the profession. The site is underwritten through development job postings and advertising. For jobseekers, DevelopPro.com offers free e-mail alerts to its members, notifying them when a job matching their criteria for career advancement is posted to the site. Professionals can indicate, for instance, that they want to be alerted to all healthcare jobs in New England with a salary expectation of at least $70,000. A match is also run against their education and years of experience so professionals are sent information on only jobs for which they are qualified. DevelopPro.com also features a well-indexed, highly searchable online resource library that will be rapidly expanding over the next several months. The site is partnering with industry leaders to bring high quality resources to DevelopPro.com users. One of the most popular features among beta testers is the opportunity to network with peers at similar institutions. Another unique feature is the ability to review and rate nonprofit software products. This comprehensive listing has the most current data available. Professionals can rate the products they use and help colleagues accelerate their selection process.

The National Committee on Planned Giving (NCPG) is the professional association for people whose work includes developing, marketing and administering charitable planned gifts. Started in 1988, NCPG has grown to more than 11,300 members nationwide. Council members include fundraisers for nonprofit institutions and consultants and donor advisors working in a variety of for-profit settings. Full and part-time gift planners, general development staff, accountants, attorneys, financial planners, fundraising consultants, trust administrators, and insurance professionals are all part of NCPG.
