Subject: IGRANTS-L: listname & outreach programs

Greetings. I'd like to try something with you, along the lines of
introducing more discussion opportunities into the listserv. Before I
do that, however, let me remind you that the listname has changed. It
is now "IGrants-L@heproc.org". This means that to post messages,
subscribe, and unsubscribe, and to do anything else that would involve
the list or archives, you must use the string "IGrants-L", not
"Grants-L". (It is case-insensitive). I made this change to emphasize
the intended international focus of list discussions and postings.

What I'd like to try is the following. I have created a new roster,
called "IG1@heproc.org". That's the letter "i", followed by "g" and
the number 'one'. This is the name of our first discussion forum.
What I propose is that IGrants-L continue to be used as it always has,
and those with interests in particular topics can subscribe to
discussion forums such as IG1.

I asked Mary for insight into topical ideas for discussion. She
suggested, inter alia, the development of outreach programs toward
institutions of higher learning in Central America and the Caribbean.
We can devote IG1 to that subject. The purpose of the IG1 forum is to
group people with interest in establishing/developing outreach
programs to those areas, provide a convenient mechanism for them to
share ideas, and to group the ideas (posts) into one or more
'discussion documents' for placement on the WWW / listserver. When the
discussion seems to end, the caucus will close.

If you are interested in such a discussion, send to "listserv@heproc.org"

When a grouping of people has appeared on that roster, we can begin
our discussion.
