Percy Society, 1840-52

The Percy Society, a group of British antiquarians and bibliophiles, helped to inspire later scholarly interest in the medieval Europe. Their limited editions of the stories, songs and poetry of the Middle Ages were drawn from the finest public and private collections of the time, including the Bodleian Library and the Ashmolean Museum.
