Pirates! Band of Misfits

Wednesday, February 12
7:00 pm
North Conference Room
Presented by Rich Bellon, MSU Department of History & Lyman Briggs College

Charles Darwin has been portrayed in numerous serious films about his life and work, but “Pirates” breaks that mold. In this rip-roaring animated fi lm by the creators of Wallace & Gromit, Darwin is captured aboard the Beagle by a team of rag-tag pirates. All hope seems lost until Darwin discovers the last living dodo with the buccaneers, and leads them on a dangerous mission into London. Starring the voice talents of Hugh Grant, Martin Freeman, and David Tennant, “Pirates” is a hilarious romp through scientific history and Victorian society.

A selection of Darwin-themed comics/cartoons from the MSU Libraries will be on display during the film.

Celebrate Darwin’s birthday with cake!

In coordination with the MSU Museum and the 10th Annual Darwin Discovery Day.
