What is an MSU NetID?
For MSU students, faculty and staff, the MSU NetID is that portion of the MSU email that comes before @msu.edu. All MSU students, faculty, and staff have MSU NetID accounts (for e-mail and to access MSU Library eResources and other MSU websites).
- If you have your PIN/PAN letter and have not activated your account, you may do so here: netid.msu.edu. If you need assistance activating your account, please call Distance Learning Services at (800) 500-1554 or email "firstname.lastname@example.org."
- Don't have one? Request a PIN/PAN number.
I tried to log in to My Library Account and got the message "Sorry, cannot locate patron record."
Try re-typing your MSU NetID and password -- or barcode and password for community borrowers. If the system still cannot locate your record, please call Patron Services (517) 355-2333, and explain that you cannot get to your library account online.
Are there guidelines for my password?
If your MSU NetID password contains symbols, punctuation, or spaces, it will not work for your library account. Please change your password so that it contains only letters and/or numbers.
If you are a community borrower, you must select a password in person at the Main Library Patron Services Desk. Then you can view your record by entering the barcode from your library card and your password. If you have forgotten your community password or it is not working, please come to the MSU Main Library Patron Services Desk to reset it; it cannot be reset online or by phone.
