Q. Do I have an MSU NetID?

A. Your MSU NetID is that portion of your MSU email that comes before @msu.edu.

Q. What if I don't have an MSU NetID?

A. All MSU students, faculty, and staff have MSU NetID accounts (for e-mail and access to MSUL's electronic resources).

Q. I tried to log in and was told "Sorry, cannot locate patron record". What do I do?

A. If the system responds, "Sorry, cannot locate patron record," try re-typing your MSU NetID and password. If the system still cannot locate your record, please call Circulation 517/355-2333, and explain that you cannot get to your library account online.

Q. Are there any guidelines for my password?

A. If your MSU NetID password contains symbols, punctuation, or spaces, it will not work for your library account. Please change your password so that it contains only letters and/or numbers.

Community Borrowers

Q. I'm not a Student, Faculty, or Staff Member at MSU. How can I log in?

A. If you are an MSU library user with a community library card, you must first select a password in person at the Main Library Circulation Desk. Then you can view your record by entering the barcode from your library card and your Password.

Q. I tried to log in and was told "Sorry, cannot locate patron record". What do I do?

If the system responds, "Sorry, cannot locate patron record," try re-typing your barcode and password. If the system still cannot locate your record, please call Circulation 517/355-2333, and explain that you cannot get to your library account online.

Q. Are there any guidelines for my password?

If your password contains symbols, punctuation, or spaces, it will not work. You will need to change your password the next time you are in the library.
