The Chevalier de Pontgibaud, a French volunteer of the war of independence / by Robert B. Douglas. Paris: C. Carrington,1898.
Main Library, E265 .M813 1898
The Chavalier de Pontgibaud, barely out of his teens,  was one of the small band of Frenchmen, who, "sick for breathing and exploit," crossed the Atlantic to aid in the Revolution. His impressions, written more than forty years later, contain vivid pen-portraits of men and events, written with a keen sense of humor.
