Collection Summary:

Typed manuscript for Juggernaut: the Path of Dictatorship which was published by Viking Press in 1939. 

Historical Background:

American writer, born January 15, 1902 in Chicago, Illinois;  died October 28, 1971 in New York, N.Y.  Free-lance writer, 1931-41; White House staff economic advisor, 1944-46; consultant to President Truman, 1948-52. Member of U.S. government missions to England, China, and Germany.  Awarded Order of Victory by the Republic of China, 1945. Wrote fourteen books, numerous magazine articles, and several film and television plays. Sometimes referred to as a “Renaissance Man”, Carr was knowledge-able in a wide variety of subjects including economics, history, diplomacy, and current events.
