Collection Summary:
2 boxes, 1949-2000. This archive contains 1 box of reports, newsletters, reprints, newsclippings and 1 box of photography collected by Daniel and Linda Tirado. A significant part of the collection dates from the mid-1960's through the mid- 1970's and relates to Daniel Tirado's work with agricultural labor and migrant workers. Tirado worked with AMOS a migrant legal services agency in Indiana. Books, reports and newspapers have been separated from this archive and integrated into the book and periodical collection as needed.
Historical Background:
The materials in this collection were assembled by Linda and Daniel Tirado over a thirty year period with the core of the material dating in the early-mid 1970’s. Daniel Tirado graduated from Indiana Northern University (MBA) and the University of Detroit (BA) and worked with service agencies in Detroit and Migrant Services agencies in Michigan and Indiana, in particular Associated Migrant Opportunity Services, Inc. He was a consultant to Detroit Mexican Industries owner Hank Aguirre and his business. Linda Medina Tirado is an alumna of Michigan State University (BA). Medina Tirado was from a migrant family that worked as agricultural labor in Michigan communities. She was a student activist at MSU and was later employed in law enforcement in Texas.

The Tirado papers are arranged into two series:
Series 1: Materials collected by the Tirados include reports, newsletters, reprint articles, flyers and newsclippings.
Series 2: Photograph collection of 476 8” x 10” black and white prints of migrant camps in Indiana.
