Library Film Series - Spring Semester 2013

FREE and open to the public.

All films begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Library North Conference Room, W449

FREE parking is available in stadium lot 62E on Red Cedar Road after 6:00pm. The Main Library is wheelchair accessible via the south entrance. Persons with disabilities may request accommodations by calling Birdie Beckwith at 517.884.6454 one week before an event. Requests received after that time will be met when possible.

A shy 11-year-old's passion for ballet angers and upsets his working-class family, who are struggling to survive in an industrial Britain hit hard by the 1980s miners' strike.

Two tickets will be given away to the Wharton Center musical!

Wham! Bam! Islam! tells the story of Naif Al-Mutawa and his venture to create the first team of superheroes from the Muslim world called THE 99. Following the tumultuous journey of THE 99 from concept to reality, from acclaim to censure, from the edge of bankruptcy to a multi-million dollar animation series, Al-Mutawa dodges cultural minefields and confronts the harsh realities of the global marketplace in pursuit of his vision to bring new heroes to children around the world.

Based on the autobiography of a brilliant young master of deception and the FBI agent hot on his trail, Frank W. Abagnale, Jr. passed himself off as a pilot, a lawyer, and a doctor all before his 21st birthday.
