Inserted in the pamphlet is a typed letter from Mary Blake encouraging readers to send for other copies of this pamphlet. The front end page tells how to "lay" a table under "Table Setting Service" with an illustration of a formally set table with a white cloth, four lamps and a centerpiece. The back end page has an Index/Table of Contents. The title page has a framed description of the contents of the pamphlet and tells that recipes were tested by The School of Domestic Arts and Sciences, Chicago, Ill. To the right of the frame is a drawing of cows grazing. A page of photographs and drawings of the Carnation Factory and a two-page description of how Carnation Milk is made precedes recipes for beverages, breads, cakes, candies, fish, ice creams, icings and sauces, meats, pies, pudding, salads, salad dressings, soups and vegetables. There is a page with information about the nutritional value of Carnation Milk and a page with a time table for cooking, standardized oven temperatures and weights and measures. There are illustrations with some recipes.
