The front cover of the hardcover, spiral-bound book features a color photograph of a barbecue grill with ribs and two vegetable skewers, on a blue background. Title text features Kingsford in a red oval bordered by a white line, and beneath that, Great Barbecues. The back cover features similar title text above four color photographs of grilled meat entrees, then promotional text for 175 recipes included in the book, noting that all are made with premium Kingsford Charcoal Briquets. Near the bottom of the back cover is the book's UPC code, plus a reference to Publications International Ltd. Before the recipes, inside pages spotlight a history of barbecuing, the types of charcoal, an emphasis on safety, building perfect fires, flavored smoke, plus, dry rubs, marinades and sauces.
