Description:
The front cover begins at the top with the title "Starters and Cultured Buttermilk" written in black lettering inside of a box that is outlined with two black lines. Below the box, there are black leaves that form an upside down triangle. The back cover is plain besides for the Hansen's trade mark located in the center. The front end page starts off with an illustration of the Chr. Hansen's laboratory and continues with the index. The rest of the inside pages are dedicated to various topics dealing with buttermilk. Some of the topics include the history, starts, effect of temperature on culture, cultured buttermilk, defects in starters, and ripening cream for butter making. There are illustrations throughout the inside pages of various buttermilk making tools and containers. The back end page is filled with "Hansen's Dairy Preparations" including Hansen's Cheese Rennet, Hansen's Cheese Bandages, and Hansen's Testing Solutions.
