Kitchen Tested Recipes From Canned Foods
The front cover features a color photographic illustration of white rectangular dishes of beets, peas, string beans, corn, asparagus, carrots, and spinach placed side by side. The back cover contains three lines written in blue and black lettering including Canco Tested, Home Economics Section, and American Can Company. The front end page is filled with "A Guide to Common Can Sizes" entailing sizes for various cans such as No. 300, 2, 3, and 10. The table of contents is located on page one consisting of soups, fish, vegetables, and fruits. The rest of the inside pages are dedicated to various recipes including corn and tomato chowder, southern shrimp, broiled corn, bean stew, asparagus luncheon rolls, and pumpkin whip. All recipes entail a list of all the ingredients needed plus detailed directions on how to prepare the dish. There are black and white photographic illustrations located throughout the inside pages of different prepared dishes.
