Description:

At the top the title "Soups, Salads and Desserts" is written in dark gray lettering. In the bottom right corner, there is a yellow box stating "How pure appetizing foods are prepared for your table." The back cover begins at the top with "Fresh=Kept Fruits and Vegetables" and is followed with eleven jars of fruits and vegetables in either tin containers or glass containers. At the bottom, the company name and address are listed. The front end page contains a seal of approval from the Good Housekeeping Bureau of Foods, Sanitation and Health. The rest of the inside pages are dedicated to various recipes. The main categories that the recipes fall under are soups, vegetables, salads, pies, desserts, and Sunday night supper and the chafing dish. Each recipe includes all the ingredients needed plus detailed directions on how to prepare the dish. There are different color illustrations throughout the inside pages of various prepared dishes. Page twenty eight consists of directions on how to select your fruits and vegetables. The back end page entails all the fruits and vegetables that the New York Canners produce in both tin and glass containers.
