Good Housekeeping Sandwich Manual
The front cover features the title "Good Housekeeping Sandwich Manual" in green and white lettering. In the center, there is a photographic color illustration of three different types of prepared dishes. At the bottom, the phrase "More than 400 different sandwich ideas" is written in white lettering against the brown background. The back cover's first half is just a plain white color and the second half is a promotion for Tip-Top Bread consisting of the title "Enriched Tip-Top" and a loaf of bread plus a sandwich. The front end page begins at the top with the saying "Woman's work is never done...but bread helps keep you going" and is followed by a color photographic illustration of a sandwich and soup. Page one is the title page which entails the title, what topics can be found in this manual and color photographic illustrations of two different prepared dishes. The rest of the inside pages are filled with different types of subjects. For example, page five consists of "Facts in the life a sandwich" and pages ten and eleven contain different "Pack and carry" ideas for sandwiches. Throughout the inside pages, there are various recipes and pictures for some of the recipes prepared. Some recipes that are listed include Party sandwich loaf, toasted cheese sandwiches, smores, bacon roll-ups, pinwheels and ham-salad filling. On page thirty two there is a sandwich directory listing all of the sandwiches in this manual. The back end page begins at the top with the heading "The staff of life-- Your perfect companion food" and is followed by a few passages stating facts about this pamphlet. At the bottom there is a "Public Service Council Seal of Assurance."
