Description:
The beige front cover of the book features a color logo for Cream Of Wheat that features an African-American chef holding a large ladle in his right hand and a bowl on a tray in his left hand, with wheat stalks below his arms. Text reads Diamond Cook Book Compiled From Tested Recipes, then below the logo, Cream Of Wheat Company Minneapolis, Minn., 118-120 Fourth Street North. The back cover features the same drawing of the chef, but not within the logo. Text on the back cover reads Have You Tried Cream of Wheat The Dainty Breakfast Dish? It Is Without An Equal. Decorative bands with a yellow design between two lines stretch across the cover from left to right, both at the top and the bottom of the page. The inside pages are almost exclusively dedicated to recipes, interspersed with occasional black and white drawings, there is no index to the recipes. Categories include: Soups; Fish; Meats; Poultry and Game; Vegetables; Salads and Salad Dressings; Yeasts and Breads; Breakfast and Lunch Dishes; Cream of Wheat Recipes; Cookies and Doughnuts; Pies and Puddings; Salads; Cakes; Creams, Ices and Jellies; Drinks; Pickles and Catsups; Fruit Preserves and Jellies; and Dishes for Invalids. The recipes all indicate who the individual was who contributed the recipes. There are no page numbers.
