Little Cookbooks: The Alan and Shirley Brocker Sliker Culinary Collection

Gilt Edge Flour

The front of the trade card features a drawn color illustration of two little girls putting a bib on a cat before feeding it from the large bowl. The cat is sitting on top of a flour barrel that has a blue and white logo superimposed in the lower right corner. The logo states "C.G.A. Voigt & Co. Best Gilt Edge Patent, Grand Rapids, Mich." In the center of the barrel, the title "Gilt Edge Flour" is printed in black lettering. The back of the trade card begins at the top with the phrase "The Everlasting Truth" and continues with a few lines describing the new flour product. Below, there is a paragraph explaining the directions for making bread including all ingredients needed along with preparation instructions. At the very bottom, the publisher name and address are listed in black lettering.
