Description:
The front cover features a diagonal row of fresh vegetables and a white outline for a jar with a gold lid containing red lettering. Underneath the vegetables, the title "Bernardin Home Canning Guide" is written in white lettering followed by a circle stating 50 cents inside of it. The back cover is identical to the front except it is missing the title and white circle. The front end page has sketched and painted vegetables going diagonally down the page with a jar of peaches located along the right side. The following inside pages begin with a table of contents along with a few paragraphs explaining what content can be found inside this pamphlet. Throughout the inside pages, there are main headings written in black lettering inside of a pink box shapes describing what can be found in the next couple of pages. Some of the main headings include Three Canning Methods, Processing Equipment and It's Use, Helpful Home Canning Tips, 10 Steps In Successful Home Canning, Getting Ready To Can, Why Food Spoils, Recipes For Canning Vegetables and Jellies Jams, Preserves, Marmalade's, conserves, fruit butters. On page thirty seven there is a "Jelly Making Guide" that lists various fruits and the directions to make jelly. There are many photographs located inside containing different main dishes listed. Pages sixty eight and sixty nine contain the index and are followed by a page of "A Complete Line of Bernardin 2-Piece Mason Cups With Snap Lids." The back end page entails nine different Bernardin cans that are all different sizes.
