A Feeding Guide For A Helathy, Happy Baby - Heinz Baby Foods
Description:
The light pink cover of this pamphlet has the title on torn sheets -- "A feeding guide" and "Healthy, Happy Baby on dark blue and "For A" on dark pink. Below is a color drawing of a baby wearing a bib looking up at the title. To the right is the Heinz "57" logo in dark blue. At the bottom is "Heinz Baby Foods." The back cover and back end page has coupons in pinks and blue to send in for a Heinz Baby Tumbler (50¢ and 12 Heinz Baby Food labels), a Heinz Baby Spoon (25¢ and 6 labels) and a Heinz Fork and Spoon Set (50¢ and 6 labels). The front end page has an index with a notation at the bottom that the information in this pamphlet was edited by Stuart Shelton Stevenson, MD, H.J. Heinz Company Pediatric Consultant. The first page introduces Heinz baby foods in "A Word to Mother and Dad," followed by information on baby's nutritional needs: milk, orange juice, cereal, meat, egg yolks and grown-up foods. There is additional information on teething, a balanced diet (with menus), having fun at mealtime, how to introduce solids, weaning from the bottle and self-feeding. There are instructions on opening the glass jars and storing leftovers, a brief history of Heinz baby food and description of the Heinz process of making baby food. At the end are pages for Baby's Own Record with a growth chart, feeding chart and immunization record. The last page has the poem, "Boy Or Girl," by Edgar A. Guest. There are drawn illustrations on most pages.
