Description:

The front cover is gold, black and white with a large drawing of a pressure cooker beside meat on a cutting board, a pepper mill, a bottle of wine and a timer. At the top on a gold background is the Mirro-Matic logo, title and Price: $1.00. Inside the drawing is "Cuts cooking time more than 1/2, tenderizes naturally." At the bottom on a gold background is "Deluxe Model with automatic control for cooking at 5, 10 or 15 lbs. pressure." The back cover has the Guarantee in black, framed in gold above drawings of six Mirro products. At the bottom is the company name and address with "Makers of Mirro-Matic quality electric housewares, Mirro aluminum cookware and bakeware, aluminum foilware, toys and kitchen small wares ... in polished, Teflon, porcelain, acrylic and other finishes." The front end page has a table of contents and instructions for replacement of the safety fuse. The back end page has an illustrated list of replacement parts. The first page introduces the speed cooker with a drawing of a happy woman holding the handle of the pressure cooker on a table. There is information on Mirro-Matic features, cleaning and care, "Read Before You Cook," 12 "Important Don'ts!", six illustrated steps to cooking with the Mirro-Matic and how to adapt recipes for Mirro-Matic cooking. There are tables for cooking various foods: Meats, Fresh Vegetables, Soups and Chowders, Fish and Seafood, Frozen Vegetables, Dried Vegetables, Pasta, Cereals, Fresh Fruits and Dried Fruits amid the recipes. There are instructions for sterilizing, including Terminal Sterilization for baby formula, nipples, bottles and caps and a section on pressure canning in glass jars with charts and timetables. There are three pages of questions and answers about the Mirro-Matic pressure cooker and order blanks to send in for replacement parts.
